The human brain receives messages from several sources of our external environment, each dealing with separate types of information, such as everyday news, music, jobs, relationships, weather, etc. Our own bodies provide data concerning movement, digestion, tension, pain, all in the form of messages to the brain. The conscious mind deals with reasoning and logic, decisions, goals, planning and conscious activity. The subconscious mind receives all of the messages from our social, spiritual and genetic backgrounds and all of the conflicts and disturbances which enter our conscious minds daily. The subconscious mind receives and holds its information, neither accepting nor rejecting the messages. It does not evaluate. That is reserved for the conscious mind.

When the conscious mind can no longer handle the messages that are overloading the brain, the subconscious prepares us for flight or fight but sometimes the fight is too exhaustive, too rigorous, too difficult, too impossible, and then stress enters the action and we may pursue flight into various stages of negative feelings and emotions to various degrees. Just think of conversations that you have had with family, friends and co-workers, even strangers. They tell of very difficult times and harmful reactions, and you have to feel sorry for them, and you can trade a few stories yourself. This is because we are human and humans are continuously confronted with stress. The stressors come at you from many directions. Stress can be a turn on. It can pump you up, energize you and supply a zest for life. Stress can also be destructive when it turns into distress.

Every individual is different in tolerance levels, coping abilities, reactions and needs, and as we declare throughout this site, all persons are unique, requiring unique and meaningful attention.

The Natural Healing Spa has developed special techniques for stress alleviation through the use of hypnosis, NLP (neurolinguistic programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique-meridian energy stimulation) and guided imagery. W e can help you determine the stress causing factors in your life and learn how to deal with them properly and/or eliminate them altogether. It is not that we can stop the stressors from coming at us every day, because come they will, but being able to process the stressors is the goal. We have found in over 25+ years of working with clients, that helping them address their stress without teaching them how to process the stress may be beneficial on a temporary basis, but the SPA wants you to be able to process the stressors on your own throughout your life. We listen to you, pay attentions and then prepare a session plan to assure the most benefits for you. The minimum number of sessions for stress alleviation is three (3) and we shall gain further insights with your confidential interview and also the feed back that we receive from you in between sessions.
